A Published Authors’ Contest for Books Published in 2009

Prizes & Perks:
* Poster of winners’ names and covers printed and mailed to booksellers nationwide
* Uniquely designed pendant/pin to each winner
* Reception for all finalists at National RWA
conference where winners are announced
* Winners’ names listed in the RWR
* Finalists’ names, and winners’ names and book covers posted on GDRWA site
* Certificates to all finalists and winners

Rules:
* Entry must have a 2009 copyright or first US printing 50,000 minimum word count
* Entry in the Best First Book category must be the authors FIRST book-length release that meets the above requirements.  This includes e-books.
* Each title may only be entered in one main category, and Best First Book if eligible.
* Complete a separate entry form for each title
* Categories may be added or dropped depending on number of entries, but any books in that dropped category will still be eligible for Best First Book category.
* No refunds after entry form is submitted
* Author may not change categories after entry
* Scores are not disclosed
* Send entry form & fee ONLY to the address
listed at the bottom of the entry form (no
books to this address please!)
* Failure to follow rules or meet deadlines may result in disqualification. 

Where to Send What:
Do Not send anything “signature required”.
If you need confirmation of receipt, please send via USPS “Delivery Confirmation” mail.

ordinator with instructions on where to send 5 autographed books (not returned).
No additional books required for the First Book category OR the Final Round. 

Deadlines:
Submitted online or Postmarked by 1/15/10 – entry form and fee
On or Before 2/1/10 – Entrants will receive instructions to send 5 books to their category coordinator
Postmarked by 2/20/10 – Books received by coordinators
On or before 6/10/10 – finalists will be notified
On or before 6/15/10 – finalists’ names posted on GDRWA website
On or around 7/2010 – Evening awards reception at RWA National Conference (tent. Date)
By 8/15/10 – winners’ names will be posted on GDRWA website

Judging:
All judges will be booksellers or Librarians.
Coordinators make every attempt to match an entry with a judge in a different region than that author’s home state.
