Abbey MacInnis aka Kelli Finger
Admittedly,
I’m not one who really enjoys talking about myself. I’m
usually more comfortable sitting and hiding in the corner reading
a book, than being the center of attention. I was always encouraged
to read as a kid, and I’ve been hooked ever since. All of the
glamour and adventure I’ve experienced has been found within
the pages of a book and in my own active imagination. I’ve
been everywhere and spent time exploring nearly every period throughout
history, and even a few realms to keep things interesting. I’ve
solved crimes, slept with vampires, had tea with a Countess, waltzed
with a Duke, been rescued by a knight, ridden cross-country on a
stage coach to be robbed by bandits, kidnapped by outlaws, danced
with fairies and cast spells with witches. I find stories, all of
them wonderful and fun, no matter the genre. However, I have a particular
soft spot for romances. The world we live in can be full of pain
and ugliness and negativity. Sometimes, we just need to get away
from it all, and enjoy a good story that ends happily and makes us
feel good inside.
I’ve been writing seriously since May of 2006, although the
writing bug had bitten me nearly four years before. Until I graduated
with my Masters’ in Social work, my creative energy was focused
on academic writing, rather than for my own pleasure and entertainment.
I’m absolutely thrilled now to be writing what I love. History
has always fascinated me, so many of my stories written as Abbey
MacInnis will be historicals. Along with writing fantasy romances
as one half of Daisy Kelli, as Abbey MacInnis, I also write contemporaries
showcasing strong characters and stories that will make your heart
sigh. There’s something to be said about fulfilling the needs
of your soul. Creating characters to fall in love with and adore,
makes me proud of what I do. I hope you will grow to love my characters
and stories just as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them.
I live in south-east Michigan with my family, who are, hands down
my biggest supporters. Their quiet strength and support is all I
need. They, along with writing friends both online and in person,
and the members of the three RWA chapters I belong to, The Greater
Detroit Chapter, the Mid Michigan chapter, and the online chapter,
Hearts Through History give me the motivation I need to keep going
to travel down this rocky path toward publication.
